Atlantic Sunset House Doolin Bed and Breakfast in Clare is located a short walk from the village of Doolin on the Cliffs of Moher Road,Doolin, Co. Clare.

Getting to Doolin is very easy. Shannon airport is only 45 minutes by car. Bus Eireann operate local buses daily all year round and Express Buses operate daily during high season arriving from all parts of Ireland.

From the North:
From Galway take N18 south to Kilcolgan, then turn right on N67 toward Lisdoonvarna and Ennistymon. In Lisdoonvarna follow signs for the Cliffs of Moher on R478 until you come to the junction with R479 for Doolin. Our house is just at the junction, on the right hand side, and opposite Clare Woollen Mills.

If you opt to take the Coast Road from Ballyvaughan to Doolin, follow R477 and then take a right on R479 for Doolin. In Doolin Village, take a left at Fitz’s Bar, still on R479 until you come to the junction with R478 for the Cliffs of Moher. Our house is just at the junction, on the left hand side and opposite Clare Woollen Mills.

From the South:
From Shannon and the South take N18 north toward Ennis and Galway. Just before Ennis follow the exit for N85, Ennistymon. Drive straight through Ennistymon on N67 toward Lisdoonvarna, and just short of Lisdoonvarna turn left on R478 for the Cliffs of Moher. On R478 follow signs for the Cliffs of Moher until you come to the junction with R479 for Doolin. Our house is just at the junction, on the right hand side and opposite Clare Woollen Mills.

From Kerry via Killimer Ferry, take N67 to Lahinch, then take a left on R478 for the Cliffs of Moher. After the Cliffs of Moher continue on R478 for 6km, until you come to the junction with R479 for Doolin. Our house is at the junction, opposite Clare Woollen Mills.

When approaching from Lisdoonvarna or Lahinch on the R478, Atlantic Sunset House is conviently located on the junction leading to the village.

By Bus: Ireland’s national bus company, Bus Eireann,  provides a bus service, directly from Dublin, Galway, Limerick to Doolin daily. The Region is easily reached by road or rail and the mileage chart featured gives distances.

Ennis, Limerick and Galway City are on the National Train grid and have daily services from Dublin. Limerick City is the Shannon Region’s major rail hub and bus connections can also take you onward to Ennis and points in Clare. Clare and Galway are also well serviced by a network of Bus Routes.

By Sea: Sea ferry services operate, year-round, from the U.K. and France. Ferries travel to Cork, Rosslare, Dun Laoghaire and Dublin ferryports. Larne is approx. 5 hours.

 

By air: the easiest way to reach Clare is via Shannon International Airport. There are scheduled flights to Shannon daily, on a year-round basis from Dublin, London, Manchester and Birmingham and a several times weekly service between Belfast and Shannon. From Europe, there is a high frequency service from Paris (from 1999) And during the summer there are charter series directly to Shannon from cities in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Norway and Denmark.

High frequency direct schedule or charter flights, year-round, to Shannon operate from some of the major cities in North America including New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Toronto. Shannon also has a number of schedule flights weekly from Moscow, Minsk and Amman.
There is also an Airport in Galway which offers domestic flights.
